I can’t choose! But if I had to, I could really see myself in the Duesenberg.

i saw a GT for the first time in person this weekend. numbers don’t prepare you for how short that car is. barely came up to my waist, and i’m no Jezza.

Low, slick, and fast as hell.

I probably had a similar experience when I first saw and F40 in person. You almost always see pictures of these cars taken from a low angle, and when you see them in person they just look so small!

Here are mine in no particular order:
1946-47 Packard Clipper
1956-57 Continental MkII
1963-65 Buick Riviera (hailed by Pininfarina himself as the most beautiful postwar American car ever made)
1960 Chryslers
1953-64 Studebaker Starliners, Speedsters, and Hawks
To me, prewar cars are in a class of their own.

I submit this one: 69 Mustang fastback. Not a real boss or anything special though. It’s for sale btw, can’t convince my dad to keep it.

Eh, i prefer the boss 302 or 429 cobra jet of that gen.

I don’t think so...
my short list would have to be:
1967 Plymouth Barracuda
1959 Buick “Deuce and a Quarter” Electra convertible
1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Convertible
The Dousey you posted
1957 Ford T-bird

Could not agree more on the first two. The 55 Continental would have made the list over the 61 if they made a convertible in large numbers. As for the Clipper I always forget about those but they are stunning.

Tell him to keep it for you as inheritance

65 had only the 289 and 305 I thought?

The T-bird and the 59 Buick I can agree with.

289, ford never had a 305.

I thought Jay Leno said his Shelby GT350 was a 305. I thought it sounded weird oh well.

Ford GT is an up-sized GT40, which is a british Ford, by Lola. Not an american design.
Personal favorite american car designs:
68-73 early C3 Corvette Stingray
65-66 Mustang 2+2 Fastback (honorable mention to the 69/70 as well)
Auburn Boat tail speedster
68-70 Dodge Charger (honorable mention to E-body Plymouth Barracuda)
People love the 1st gen Rivieras, and the 3rd-gen boat tails, I however really prefer the early 2nd-gen 66 and 67 Buick Riviera.

I would pick the same but in hard top form.
Duesenberg Model J Arlington Sedan
